Effective 2026-10-26. Questions: support@carrierarchive.com.
If you only look up carriers, a random identifier in a browser cookie and a log of what was searched and viewed under it. If you track a carrier or sign in: your email address, a display name if one is given, your account's name, the carriers you track and your settings, the alerts and records we sent you, and anything you write to us. Once you sign in or track a carrier, earlier activity under the same browser identifier can be connected to your account. When a sign-in email is requested we keep a hashed form of the requesting network address to limit abuse; it cannot be read back. Sign-in links and codes are stored hashed. When paid plans begin, payment is handled by Stripe; we never see full card numbers. If something on a page fails in your browser, the page sends us a short technical report (what failed, which page, the type of browser) so we can fix it; it never includes what you typed.
No advertising trackers, no sale or sharing of your data for anyone else's marketing, no marketing email. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used, on public pages only (never the sign-in page or your dashboard), with Google's advertising features turned off; it never receives what you type, a sign-in link, or anything after a question mark in a page address.
Providers that run parts of the service for us: Supabase (database and file storage, United States), Vercel (hosting), Resend (email delivery), Microsoft 365 through GoDaddy (our support mailbox), and Stripe (payments, when they begin). Your browser also fetches the site's fonts from Google Fonts and photographs from Unsplash directly, which gives those companies your network address, and public pages load Google Analytics (Google LLC). We disclose data when the law requires it.
Two of ours: one anonymous identifier, and one that keeps you signed in for 30 days. On public pages Google Analytics sets its own cookies (named _ga) to tell returning visitors from new ones; most browsers let you block them, and the site works without them.
Records we issued and the alert and monitoring history behind them: 7 years, on every plan. Your account details: while the account is open, and for 7 years afterwards for anything a record depends on. Expired sign-in links, codes and sessions are deleted as the system comes across them. The browser usage log is kept while the service runs.
Email support@carrierarchive.com from the address on your account to get a copy of what we hold, correct it, or close the account. Closing stops all checks and alerts and removes your sign-in; records already issued and the history behind them stay for the period above and are sent to you on request. A carrier that believes a federal record about it is wrong corrects it with FMCSA; we show the record as published, with its date and source, and show FMCSA's correction once made.
Sign-in by emailed link or code, no passwords; secrets stored hashed; encrypted connections; access limited to the service and to us. If a breach affects your data we will tell you promptly.
For businesses and adults in the United States; not directed at children. Data is stored in the United States.
Posted here with a new date; material changes are emailed to the address on your account before they take effect.
